HARKER HEIGHTS PUBLIC LIBRARY

HARKER HEIGHTS, TEXAS

CP&Y masterplanned a site to include a public library and police station for the City of Harker Heights. Phase II of the masterplan incorporates the design and construction of a 25,000 SF public library and activities center.

The open concept plan for the library accommodates growth and flexibility to meet the needs of an evolving library environment. Sun studies were conducted to design exterior solar screens which provide natural light to the library space without inducing direct sun.

The activities center includes a large meeting room able to seat 200 people at tables, a catering kitchen, and three individual meeting rooms. These spaces are connected to the library by way of a common entry lobby. This and shared restrooms allow the two spaces to be utilized independently.
