CITY OF WACO POLICE HEADQUARTERS

WACO, TEXAS

Through adaptive reuse, CP&Y converted an existing 10 floor (130,000) square foot medical office building into a police headquarters for the city of Waco. The building houses all departments including administrative offices, records, and a communications dispatch center managing all 911 for the city and county. Design also included modifications to an existing HVAC system and numerous code updates throughout the building.

Through effective design, this new space gives the Police Department room for the newest available technology and plenty of room to grow with the flexibility to adapt as technology increases. The newly renovated facility brought together multiple police divisions in an efficient and logical way that provides the city with an attractive, professional, and customer-focused image and balances the safety and security of the officers.
