Cotton Belt Railroad Bridge
Our design team worked with a local developer to create a conceptual design intended to inspire possibilities for the adaptive reuse of the historic Cotton Belt Railroad Bridge to a pedestrian bridge spanning the Brazos River. The illustrated concept would link the east and west pedestrian river trails near downtown Waco. The west bank trail ties into the Imagine Waco Master Plan by connecting Mary Avenue to the river along a festival lane and food truck court.
CP&Y Architectural did the conceptual design, 3-D modeling, rendering, and animations in-house and prepared a structural analysis and history of the bridge. We continue to be engaged with City Center Waco and their Community Advisory Committee to help bring this vision into reality.
